• Great Patriotic War Museum in Minsk
    The Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War was the world’s first museum to tell the story of the bloodiest war of the 20th century, and the only one in Belarus created during the years of Nazi occupation.
  • Belovezhskaya Pushcha
    The main asset of the famous forest is the world’s second largest population of bisons of the Belovezhskaya line. Back in 1926, there were only 52 European bisons. Only six of them were used to save the species from extinction.
  • St. Sophia Cathedral
    Hagia Sofia, one of the oldest Orthodox churches in Europe and the first stone temple in Belarus, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage tentative list. Built in 1044-1066 by order of Duke Vseslav the Wizard, it embodied the independent and powerful Principality of Polotsk.
  • Mir Castle
    The most popular place of interest in Belarus, the residence of the famous Radziwills family, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list is an outstanding specimen of defense architecture of the 16th-17th centuries.
  • Palace of the Rumyantsevs and the Paskeviches
    The Gomel Palace proudly overlooks the banks of the Sozh River. It once belonged to one of the favorites of Catherine II, Count Pyotr Rumyantsev-Zadunaisky. In the 19th century it was purchased by the famous Field Marshal Ivan Paskevich.
  • Buinichi Field Memorial
    The memorial commemorates the soldiers who defended the city against the Nazis for 23 days in July 1941. The heroism of the soldiers is one of the brightest pages of the Great Patriotic War.

About BelPho 2022

The Open Belarusian Physics Olympiad will be held in 2022 on-line and in the capital of the Republic of Belarus - Minsk. We are sure that it will become a fateful event in the life of students not only in our country.

We hope that the participants of the Open Belarusian Physics Olympiad will be able get acquainted with traditions and achievements our wonderful country, and make new friends!
